Bean Salad
Anyone who knows me knows this would be one of the last things on earth I would eat. I really dislike most beans, especially kidney beans. But according to my mother this was a very common dish served at banquets and weddings in the prairies. So I have included it in the event someone reading this site likes bean salad.

Ingredients
1 14 oz can cut green beans
1 14 oz can wax beans
1 19 oz can kidney beans
1 medium onion cut into thin strips
Marinade:
½ cup sugar
½ cup white vinegar
¼ cup vegetable oil
1 tbsp soya sauce
½ tsp salt, dash pepper, and garlic powder
Preparation
Drain the beans and add to a large bowl. Stir in the onions. Combine the marinade ingredients and pour over mixture. Refrigerate overnight, drain before servings.
